The Japan Accreditation Council for Medical Education (JACME) was recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) on 18 March 2017. This is because WFME deems that JACME’s accreditation process, post-accreditation monitoring and decision-making when accrediting medical schools and faculties is to an appropriate and rigorous standard. JACME is the seventh accrediting agency to be recognized by WFME. WFME recognition has been effective for ten years from 18 March 2017.
